Some guys have all the luck.

The Seattle Seahawks gave quarterback Russell Wilson and linebacker Bobby Wagner $10 million each per year and Jon Ryan less than $10 million per year during the summer camp. And on Monday, or days before the 2015 NFL regular season starts, the three men were voted captains of the Seahawks.

Wilson and Wagner were voted by the Seahawks players to be the team's offensive and defensive captains for the 2015 season. Ryan is voted as the special-teams captain.

"Three really good guys who really stand for everything we're all about," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. "Tough competitors and good leaders in every way, so we're lucky to have those guys chosen," reported the team's official web site.

Wilson was voted the offensive captain for the third straight season, while Ryan was the special teams co-captain with Steven Hauschka last season. For Wagner, who was named first-team All-Pro last season, this is his first year as captain, taking over the honor from safety Kam Chancellor.

"I appreciate them voting me captain," Wagner said. "It's definitely a blessing, and I'm going to do my job to make sure this is the best defense."

Wagner isn't sure he would have been ready for this honor earlier in his career, but now will wear the C on his jersey with pride.

"I feel like I've grown a lot," he said. "When I first got here I was kind of just trying to get a feel for everything and just trying to play my role. But now I feel like I've got a grasp on everything and trying to continue improving as a player and a person."

Wagner will be replacing safety Kam Chancellor, "who currently is holding out for a pay raise," said NBC Sports. The players were guided by the concept of "out of sight, out of mind" and honor when voting for the captains.

The report has speculated that with Chancellor losing the captain's role is a signal from some of the players that they do not want to give him an additional leverage in his demand for a higher pay.

However, with Chancellor out of the captain's role, the Seahawks could be starting the 2015 NFL season without him, the report added.
