September will see the release of new original series and popular TV shows from the Netflix and Hulu streaming sites. In this article, we will explore the top shows that are worth watching for this month. Here is the lineup:

Hulu: Shows Worth Binge-Watching

The Mindy Project is back for a fourth Season. The premise follows the quirky love life of Mindy Lahiri, an Asian Indian OB/GYN living in New York City. For many seasons she was romantically frustrated, but has finally found her man in Season 4. The only trouble is that he still needs to meet Mindy’s parents.

Hulu will also release the first three seasons of Elementary, CBS’s contemporary retelling of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle classic. This time, Watson is a woman, and Sherlock is a recovering heroin addict. The show features the talents of Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu. Elementary will return for the fourth season on November, 5.

Also, the complete first season of Fargo is now available. It is considered the spiritual successor to the original 1996 Academy Award-winning movie of the same title. The premise takes place 19 years after events from the first film. Series regulars include actors Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman. This is an excellent opportunity to start getting into the show via binge-watching. Fargo Season 2 will debut on October, 12.

Top Netflix Shows for September 2015

On the list is Netflix's gritty period crime-thriller that is inspired by true events in the ongoing War on Drugs. Season One of Narcos traces the beginnings of this undeclared war, featuring characters including legendary drug baron Pablo Escobar and relentless DEA agent Steve Murphy. Actor Wagner Moura, who plays Escobar, best captures Narcos' spirit with his intimidating one-liner, "You decide. Silver...or lead."

While Hemlock Gove suffered a poor first season, patient viewers were rewarded with a much improved Seasons 2. Sadly, Netflix plans to finish off the show with a final third season in late 2015. Earlier reports suggests the show's final season will air in September. For now, the exact release date remains as TBD.

Meanwhile, Netflix has revived yet another show that was axed. This time that show is Longmire, which chronicles the journey of a rural lawman seeking justice for his wife's murder. The show originally ran on A&E, but was cancelled. Following fan outcry, Netflix stepped up to the plate with plans to air Longmire Season 4 on September 10. The first three season are also available.

Even so, not everything is dark on Netflix. September saw the premiere of Irish children's animation series Puffin Rock. It follows the adventures of young puffins, Oona and Baba. The show is packed with stunning visuals, catchy music and innocent humor. Puffin Rock is fun to watch, and parents will not be bored.
