ABC is sticking with its tried and tested formula that ensured the longevity of its long-time running reality dance competition Dancing With The Stars of featuring reality TV stars, aging pop singers and headline makers. For Dancing with the Stars Fall 2015 Season 22, ABC has recruited Kim Zolciak-Biermann of The Real Housewives, Nick Carter of The Backstreet Boys and Paula Deen.
Also confirmed to wiggle on the dance floor is a married celebrity couple who will compete against each other. And to attract the young viewers, ABC has also included a Vine superstar for the next season of DWTS.
On Thursday, married couple Alexa and Carlos PenaVega confirmed they would be competing against each other in DWTS season 21. The actress and her actor/singer husband made the announcement during a visit to Disneyland, said Us Magazine.
Also on Aug. 27, 62-year-old Chaka Khan has confirmed she is heading to Dancing With The Stars. The singer confirmed the news on social media."It's official, y'all!! Need you to root for me on #DWTS!!" she wrote. She also recorded a video message about her joining the show, the singer posted on her Twitter account.
Another announcement made by DWTS on hits Twitter account is the inclusion of Vine star Hayes Grier, 15, as the latest celebrity to join the reality TV competition's roster . The Twitter post reads, "Welcome to #dwts, @HayesGrier! Follow him on Twitter and Vine for more updates. #HayesDWTS."
A native of North Carolina, Hayes gained popularity posting videos on social media and now has more than four million followers on Vine and Instagram, said ABC News.
Expectedly, Hayes made his personal announced of his joining Dancing With The Stars season 12 and even posted a video. "Hey guys I made my big announcement a little early go watch the video on!," Hayes wrote on Twitter.
The teenager later tweeted, "I'm going to go back to bed right now since I have my first rehearsal in a few hours. Keep the hashtags going and trending! Be back soon"
Previously, Bindi Irwin, the 17-year-old daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, was announced to be also competing in the next DWTS season.
Bindi has her own show, Bindi the Jungle Girl, on Discovery Kids. She appeared on Good Morning America to share the news saying: "This is completely different than anything I've ever done in my life... I hope I'm able to inspire others to seize opportunities and make a difference."
With Bindi on board, there are reports that more of the Dancing with the Stars cast will be announced throughout the week. According to the Inquisitr, the much-anticipated celebrity cast reveal will be taking place on Good Morning America on September 2nd. By the way, Bindi does not know who her dance partner will be, but the pro-dancers confirmed by ABC for this season of DWTS are: Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Karina Smirnoff, Val Chmerkovskiy, Artem Chigvintsev, Allison Holker, Sharna Burgess, Peta Murgatroyd, Victor Espinoza, Nick Carter, and Witney Carson.
Dancing With the Stars Season 21 will officially air on Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
