The Nexus 5 (2015) may be coming this fall, if unconfirmed leaks are to be believed. Meanwhile, the Google may be testing its upcoming Android "M" on the Nexus 7 and Nexus 4. This rumor comes as a surprise considering that the Nexus 7 and 4 are quite old by Nexus device standards.

When Will Nexus 5 (2015) Be Out?

For now, Google remains mum on anything related to a new Nexus 5 device. However, the silence has not discouraged the rumor mill from fueling wild speculation. Also, publications such as AndroidPit reported that the Nexus 5 (2015) is expected to be released in October.

Until there are further updates from Google, the Nexus 5 (2015) exists squarely in the imagination of the Nexus fan-base. While speculation is fun, all release date news should be taken with the proverbial grain of salt.

The Nexus 5 (2015) will likely come with Android "M" preinstalled. The upcoming Android firmware is currently under development, and is expected to roll out in the fall. Apart from that, little is known about the device's actual specs. Information on the web is conflicting, though many publications believe that the Nexus 5 (2015) will sport a Snapdragon process of some sort.

Who is Making the New Nexus 5?

So far, web rumors suggest either LG or Huawei will be manufacturing the Nexus 5 (2015). Google does not actually make its own devices, and has to rely on established manufacturers. The validity of these rumors cannot be confirmed at this time. Neither LG nor Huawei have openly stated whether they are working with Google on any new devices.

Meanwhile, OnLeaks has tweeted a silhouette and photo of a case purportedly belonging to the new Nexus 5. The origins of the photos provided remain a mystery. The leakster claimed that the Nexus 5 (2015) is from LG, and will sport a fingerprint sensor. Also, the device includes the obligatory camera and navigation keys.

Is Android "M" Being Tested on Older Nexus Devices?

TechTimes recently reported on rumors suggesting that Google is testing the upcoming Android "M" on older devices such as the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 (2012). The publication was very optimistic that the next Android update will be available on those Nexus handsets. Apparently, the information came from blogger LittleGreenDude.

Android "M" includes a number of new features such as Doze Mode, which will improve battery life. Also, apps can be uninstalled via the home screen, and there are more customization options for Quick Settings.
