Franklin Graham has shared his thoughts on the passing away of Bobbi Kristina Brown and her mother, Whitney Houston, saying their untimely deaths should serve as a solemn reminder that none of us know what the future holds, and thus should seek God while He may be found.
On Monday, Graham, who is the president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse, took to Facebook to weigh in on the tragic situation.
"Bobbi Kristina Brown will be laid to rest today beside her mother Whitney Houston, two very talented people whose lives passed far too soon," he writes.
"None of us know what the future holds or how much time we have left on this earth. The Bible tells us that life here is like a vapor that quickly disappears," Graham continues. "That is why it is so important to make sure that you have put your faith and trust in God's Son, Jesus Christ, and received Him as Lord and Savior. Jesus Himself said, 'I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.' Do you believe this?'
Bobbi Kristina died last week at just 22 years old while under hospice care. Her death came nearly six months after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her home in Georgia back in January.
Currently, Bobbi Kristina's death is being investigated as a homicide case and authorities are looking to find a possible cause of her death. Her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, has been named as a person of interest in the ongoing investigation, and was not allowed to see Bobbi Kristina during the nearly six months she was hospitalized.
Bobbi Kristina's death comes more than three years after the death of her mother, legendary pop singer Whitney Houston. Houston died at just 48 years old after drowning in a bathtub in a manner eerily similar to her daughter. A toxicology report found that various medications and illegal drugs were in her system.
Bobbi Kristina Brown will be buried next to her mother on Monday at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, New Jersey, in a private ceremony, according to a local report.
Last Sunday, the Brown and Houston families commemorated Bobbi Kristina's life in a small, private memorial held at St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia.
According to E! News, Bobbi Kristina's grandmother and Whitney's mother Cissy Houston, plus Gospel singers Donnie McClurkin and Cece Winans performed songs at the young woman's funeral. McClurkin reportedly sang "Stand," which he also performed at Whitney's funeral in 2012. Lyrics include the lines, "Stand and be sure/Be not entangled in that bondage again/ You just stand and endure/God has a purpose/Yes God has a plan".
"[The service was] simple and lovely" and "perfect, like her, small and delicate," Whitney's former hairstylist, Ellin LaVar said of Bobbi Kristina's funeral. "The service was very low key and appropriate for her and her life. It was beautiful."
