Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice has just received a new IMAX trailer, and a new photo reveals more details of Batman's desert costume. In the meantime, the release date for Batman vs. Superman is set for March 25, 2016.

New IMAX Trailer, and Instagram Teaser

Admittedly, the recent IMAX trailer was a rehash of the previous full-length trailers that was shown at the recently concluded SDCC 2015 conference. The only difference is that the IMAX version is much shorter.

Recently, photographer Clay Enos introduced a portrait of the Dark Knight dressed in a desert garb, complete with goggles and leather trenchcoat. This setup was briefly shown in the trailer, during the scene where batman is being restrained by Superman's henchmen. Enos is better known for his series of portraits featuring superheroes and villains from the 2009 film adaptation of The Watchmen.

Aquaman Rumored for Batman vs. Superman

Meanwhile, there is a rumor suggesting that Aquaman may have a brief appearance in the Batman vs. Superman. According to MoviePilot, speculation stems from a scene in the trailer showing a boy diving along an anchor chain. Next to that chain is an odd shape that apparently resembles a muscular man.

It is unclear whether this latest interpretation of the trailer comes from the wishful thinking of fans. Also, this may or may not be a potential Easter Egg. However, there is a greater possibility that recent speculation was the result of an honest mistake. The odd shape seen in the trailer does look human in appearance, but can simply be just a rock.

Warner Bros. has already confirmed plans for an upcoming Aquaman solo film. The movie is scheduled to debut in theaters on July 27, 2018.

DC Comic Book Writer Disagrees with Movie's Wonder Woman Portrayal

Wonder Woman will make her first ever blockbuster appearance in Batman vs. Superman. The iconic superheroine is played by actress Gal Gadot. This news was revealed in the full-length and IMAX trailer. However, not everyone was happy especially DC comic book writer Grant Morrison.

"I get all that, but that's not what [Wonder Woman creator] William Marston wanted, that's not what he wanted at all," Morrison said to Nerdist. "His original concept for Wonder Woman was an answer to comics that he thought were filled with images of blood-curdling masculinity, and you see the latest shots of Gal Gadot in the costume, and it's all sword and shield and her snarling at the camera."

He further explained that "Marston's Diana was a doctor, a healer, a scientist." Morrison is currently writing the story for "Wonder Woman: Earth One" comic book.
