Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and Christian role model Tim Tebow has called on his fellow athletes to allow Christ lead their paths and everything will be very clear for them, reported Christian Today.
Speaking at an event at the Murphy Center in in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the football star said that many of his fellow athletes have the wrong notion of believing they are more superior to other people because they are gifted with athletic prowess.
But Tebow said he does not think of himself as more special than the guy standing next to him. He said God was the one who gave him his talent in football and that he is giving Him all the honor and glory of his career.
"When your identity is found in Christ, your identity never changes. You are always a child of God. That's why I always say I don't have to live the roller coaster that the rest of the world lives," he added.
Tebow added it is very easy to be confused with ones identity because of this day and age. But if Christians will stick with God, then He will always lead us to the right path.
During the event, Tebow also called on his fellow Christians to take a stand for their faith. "What's amazing when you get up and do something is what God does in your life. We just have to get up and do something," he continued.
For his stance, iconic conservative filmmaker and fellow speaker at the event Dinesh D'Souza, congratulated the NFL player for his honesty and brave viewpoint about his Christian faith.
D'Souza was quoted as saying, "Tim Tebow has become a certain kind of iconic figure - he seems to represent a certain kind of muscular Christianity, almost the kind that the movie 'Chariots of Fire' exhibited 20 or 30 years ago. I feel there's a certain boldness about the way he speaks his faith and what he represents. He represents a certain idea of America -kind of American exceptionalism if you will. It's kind of hard to think of Tim Tebow in Brazil or in India."
Tebow Still Not a Sure Fit For Philadelphia Eagle
Meanwhile, Sports Insights, a website that calculates odds for various sports, predicted that Tim Tebow has only a 31.25 percent chance of making it to coach Chip Kelly's at the Philadelphia Eagles, said HNGN.com.
The report stated that the Eagles is comfortable with its two current quarterbacks, Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez. Also working against Tebow is his wonky mechanics and non-traditional quarterback abilities that does not fit well with the Eagles.
However, insiders say that Tebow's popularity might with the football fans may not get unnoticed by the Eagles' owners. Indeed, Tebow's Eagles jersey was the 16th bestselling uniform in the NFL last month. Tebow's jersey out sold Marshawn Lynch (20) and Tony Romo (24), according to CBS Sports.
