House of Cards Season 4 may be a long way from seeing its premiere date. However, potential spoilers continue to surface from time to time. The popular Netflix series is expected to return in early 2016. In the sections below, we will have a look on rumors and predictions that are making the rounds.
Be warned, there will be spoilers from previous seasons ahead.
How Long Will Doug Stamper Live?
The third season saw the return of Frank Underwood's closest ally Doug Stamper, after surviving a near-death experience. Viewers then witnessed Stamper's painful recovery from brain damage before rejoining Frank at the White House. Still, the actor who plays Stamper is not so sure his character will survive next season.
"It's House of Cards, right? They do not hesitate to kill great characters," actor Michael Kelly said to the Inquistr.
Every season of House of Cards saw the death of one key character. This included politician Peter Russo and investigative reporter Zoe Barnes. By third season, Doug kills his love-interest Rachel Posner in order to demonstrate his continual loyalty to U.S. President Frank Underwood.
Stamper previously hired Rachel to seduce Peter Russo into drinking again. After Russo's untimely demise, Stamper keeps Rachel under wraps. He starts falling for her, but Rachel loves another woman instead. A jealous Stamper then moves Rachel out of the apartment, but during the car ride Rachel escapes and runs into the woods. Stamper jumps out and gives chase, but is ambushed by Rachel who slams a rock into his head.
Doug, who is a recovering alcoholic, briefly goes back to drinking during the excruciating healing process. However, the character manages to recover and manipulates his way to the White House. Season 4 will see Stamper returning by the President's side as his most trusted right-hand man.
Actress Neve Campbell Joining the Cast
