At SDCC 2015, The Walking Dead Season 6 premiere date has been confirmed for this coming fall. One subject of interest is a potential Rick and Morgan conflict. Will it happen? Meanwhile, plot details to TWD spinoff Fear the Walking Dead has been surfacing on the web. Before reading on, please be aware that there may spoilers ahead.
Season Six of The Walking Dead will debut on Sunday, October 11 at 9/8c on AMC network. The first episode of the season will be 90 minutes long.
Will Rick have Tensions with Morgan?
In the recent San Diego Comic Con trailer, it is implied that main protagonist Rick Grimes will come to blows with Morgan. In one scene, Rick has a gun pointed at Morgan.
However, Troy Smith of Cleveland.com raised concerns that the latest TWD trailer may be deceiving viewers. The writer mentioned that while Morgan and Rick may have different philosophies, they still share the strongest bond in the TWD universe. Smith also pointed to inaccuracies in last year's TWD Comic Con trailer as proof that showrunners have misled fans in the past.
The original full article outlining Smith's argument is still available for further reading.
In the previous seasons, Morgan travels far and wide to locate Rick's group. Sadly, he arrives at the Alexandria Safe Zone just as Rick executes Pete with a bullet to the head. Morgan is horrified, and viewers are left wondering how this incident will affect Rick's and Morgan's friendship.
'Fear the Walking Dead': What We Know So Far
Based on what was revealed from official sources, the premise for Fear the Walking Dead will be set in Los Angeles in the days leading to the zombie apocalypse. The companion series to TWD will feature all-new characters and set-locations. The official Fear the Walking Dead poster from Comic Con shows two men playing basketball, while a zombie is walking toward them.
Trailers reveal the main characters going about their daily lives while being oblivious to the dangers ahead. Madison, played by Kim Dickens, is a high school guidance counselor who happens to be a single mother. She is engaged to Travis (Cliff Curtiss), who has a child from a previously failed marriage. Both are struggling to make sense of the gradual disintegration of society.
Besides Madison and Travis, there will be other characters in Fear The Walking Dead. Madison has two children, including Nick (Frank Dillane) and Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey). Nick has flunked out of college due to a drug problem, while Alycia is ambitious and over-achieving. Alycia has a jock boyfriend named Matt (Maestro Harrell).
Travis shares joint custody of his son with ex-wife Liza (Elizabeth Rodriguez). Their child Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) harbors resentment toward his father for the divorce. Rounding up the character lineup is Dr. Bethany Exner (Sandrine Holt). For now, not much has been revealed about Dr. Exner.
Fear the Walking Dead will premiere on Sunday, August 23 at 9/8c on AMC.
