Now that Dancing with the Stars Season 21 is confirmed to premiere this fall, the latest fan speculation is shifting over to the cast. Previously in May, DWTS talent co-executive producer Deena Katz told Glamour that the Season 21 cast has been partially assembled. That means there is still room for additional stars to be added before the impending air date.
Dancing with the Stars Season 21 will debut on Monday, September 14 at 8/7c on ABC network. The show will be hosted by Tom Bergeron. Judges include Len Goodman, Julianne Hough, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba.
Caitlyn Jenner Not Joining DWTS Cast
According to HollywoodLife, DTWTS producers wanted to bring Caitlyn Jenner into the Season 21 cast lineup. At least two male pro cast members, Derek Hough and Tony Dovolani, voiced interests in dancing with Jenner. Additionally, many DWTS fans have been asking to see Jenner to join the show.
As it turns out, the former Olympian will not be competing for the mirror ball trophy anytime this year.
"There is not nor have there ever been any negotiations on this matter," Jenner's publicist told ET. "They inquired if she was interested in participating in the show and I said no thank you. That is the extent of the communication."
Previously in Season 13, Dancing with the Stars featured its first transgender celebrity Chaz Bono who competed alongside dance partner Lacey Schwimmer. The contestant managed to come in seventh place.
Returning Pro-Cast Members
Longtime DWTS watchers will definitely remember the pro-dancers who were paired with the contestants. Naturally, many are returning in the upcoming season.
According to FashionStyle, the male pro cast includes Derek Hough, Tony Dovolani, Mark Ballas, Val Chmerkovskiy, Artem Chigvinstev and Keo Motsepe. Women pros may include Sharna Burgess, Witney Carson, Allison Holker, Emma Slater and Peta Murgatroyd.
