Old habits die hard.
Ever since Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn ended their three year relationship in April, there had been wild speculations that the professional golfer might have cheated on her that caused their break up.
After all, Woods was caught to have maintained a string of affairs while married to Elin Nordegren that ended in one of the nastiest - and expensive - divorces in history. So it was pretty easy to assume that a third party is again involved in another of his failed relationship.
Late this week, The National ENQUIRER reported that Vonn called it quits with Woods after she caught him cheating with 27-year-old Amanda Boyd Duffner, the ex-wife of struggling professional golf player Jason Duffner. What's worst, Jason and Amanda Boyd reportedly parted ways in March after Jason found out that his former wife was dating Woods. The devastated Jason reportedly filed for divorce after discovering the affair, Radar Online, quoting the ENQUIRER said.
Duffner, 38, married Amanda Boyd in May 2012 and the happy couple became an instant hit in social media following Duffner's PGA Championship victory in 2013.
The ENQUIRER quoted a source as saying, "Even though Tiger dated Lindsey for years, he had a 'thing' for Amanda. At first, it was just innocent flirting, but earlier this year it became serious."
Apparently, Woods and Amanda Boyd have been carrying on with their steamy affair for months before they were caught.
Radar Online further quoted the ENQUIRER, "Amanda is gorgeous, and she's known as a big flirt with the other players on the PGA tour. I guess her flirty ways and good looks caught Tiger's eye."
Duffner filed for divorce in March 16, which was finalized a month later, and cited "irretrievable breakdown of the marriage," as reason.
The report added that the 39-year-old Woods flew Boyd from Alabama to Seattle to spend a few days with him in early June while he was preparing for the U.S. Open.
Woods' agent Mark Steinberg vehemently denied the reports and described them as a "complete fabrication."
In an interview with Golfweek at the Greenbrier Classic in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., where Woods is currently playing Steinberg said, "I couldn't deny this more vehemently. There is less than zero strand of truth to it. 100 percent false. 100 percent fabricated and zero credence. Absolutely, unequivocally untrue. They are not even acquaintances. It's absolutely ridiculous."
Woods has won 79 PGA Tour victories, 14 of which are major championships, but has not won since 2013.
Shortly after the break up, Vonn, 30, wrote on her Facebook page, "After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship. I will always cherish the memories that we've created together. Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart. I will always admire and respect Tiger. He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart."
