Justin Bieber, the 21-year-old pop prince from Canada arrived in Sydney, Australia on Monday to attend the week-long Hillsong Conference to further renew his faith in God and to show the world that he has indeed turned his life around.
"Justin is here, like tens of thousands of others, as a delegate who is seeking to build stronger foundations into his life," Hillsong Church said in a statement.
Justin was reported to be accompanied by Hailey Baldwin, the 18-year-old daughter of outspoken born-again Christian and actor Stephen Baldwin when he arrived in Sydney.
Bieber, who had several run ins with the law last year, lately has been very vocal about his spiritual journey and even shared his transformation on his social media networks with his millions of followers and supporters, said the Christian Post.
Bieber was baptized by New York-based Pentecostal church Pastor Carl Lentz last year and has since turned to the Lord after drawing heavy flak over his racist videos. The Canadian pop star is reported to be attending regular church services and studying Bible passages as part of his religious resurgence.
Bieber shared a photo on his Instagram account (@justinbieber) telling his fans about his new found relationship with God which he described as the "coolest thing" he has ever experienced. He also shared a Bible passage from the book of Psalm 43 which says, "Vindicate me, my God, and plead my cause against an unfaithful nation. Rescue me from those who are deceitful and wicked."
He shared this message to his fans, "I'm not religious nor do i think I have ANYTHING figured out that's why I call out on God to help me through what I can't do on my own. Developing my relationship with God has been the coolest thing I've experienced, to know that I'm not alone and I don't have to live in fear. Never feel like I'm pushing anything on u but sharing the good news I've felt in my own life."
Lentz described Bieber as a good person who is still trying to figure his life. He told CBN in an interview last year after the pop star was arrested in Miami for drag racing. "I love Justin, he's a good kid. He's trying to figure this out," he said and added, "With Justin, it's not my job to be his police officer. It's my job to be a friend to him, and that's all I am."
Organizers of the Hillsong convention said Bieber would not be performing during the event even though the Church utilizes music in their worship services. Justin will be attending the conference like any regular church member, the organizers added.
