The future of American football quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL) remains uncertain. Although by all accounts, he has been showing tremendous improvement under the tutelage of coach Chip Kelly as far as improving his throwing skill is concerned.
CBS noted a stark improvement in Tebow's throwing motion, which the report said, was far better than it was two years ago. The report described the hugely religious Tebow as looking sharper than expected,
The former Heisman Trophy winner told the media in an interview at the Eagles' OTAs at the NovaCare Complex, "It's a lot of work. It's science, mechanics, and fundamentals. You go back to the basics and early teaching yoursel the process (of throwing a football again). "It's feet, it starts with your feet. There have been a bunch of pitchers out there with us, working on the same things. I feel a lot more comfortable throwing the ball. The ability to anticipate and ability to throw intermediate routes and get the ball out quicker. I feel comfortable with a lot of different things that I'm doing."
He said his training with Chip Kelly is a lot of fun as he further fine-tunes his skills to adapt to the Eagle's high-energy offense.
Tebow's progress was also noted by Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur who commented, "He is getting better every day, He works extremely hard. He's getting comfortable in what we do. He is having more good plays than bad plays out here."
As Tebow regains his confidence, he also dreams that coach Chip Kelly could revive his career. After all in was in the 2013 NFL camp when he threw his last pass. In fact, he has been getting a rough start in the Eagle's OTAs.
Tebow on Chip Kelly
Tebow has good words for his new coach. In an interview with Fox Sports, the quarterback was brimming with confidence Chip Kelly would play a major factor for his comeback and give him a roster with the Philadelphia Eagles.
He spoke of Kelly, "I think he's the kind of coach who plays to a player's strengths,. And not just the quarterbacks, but every player. He gets the most out of each player.''
Tebow further stated, "I love this offense,'' Tebow said. "I love (Kelly's) innovations. He's changed how's the game been played.''
But it's still a long way for Tebow. He will be competing against Matt Barkley for the Eagle's third quarterback spot. Although it is a bit of good news for Tebow that Chip Kelly sometimes carry more than three quarterbacks in a season, which not most NFL teams do.
Still, Tebow has much to get excited playing under Chip Kelly. He believes that Kelly's non-traditional offense will bring out the best in him.
Let's wait what's in store for the 27-year-old Tebow this season.
