Kate Middleton gave birth to Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, named after Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana, on May 2, 8:34 a.m. at the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London.
The princess is now a month old but not even a day old, Princess Charlotte already sparked a trend with the baby bonnet she wore the wrong way. Everyone wanted to see what Kate and her newborn would wear the moment they introduce the princess to the world.
Not to everyone's surprise, Kate looked glamorous in her yellow dress and the baby was too adorable in her cream bonnet. Mothers rushed to find similar bonnets for their own babies.
The bonnet came from a shop called Irulea, and the owner, Ayajo Villar, confirmed that the baby was wearing it backwards. "The part that surrounds the face should be on the neck," Villar said.
The bonnet was a gift from Maria Teresa Turrion Borello, the royal family's Spanish nanny. The co-owner of the store, Susana Villar, had no idea that the garments ordered from them were meant for Princess Charlotte.
"Some clients of ours phoned us to tell us they'd just seen the new royal leaving hospital wearing one of our bonnets.
"It was bought as part a matching outfit that included a little coat and shoes but it was impossible to tell if she had them on as they were covered up by the blanket wrapped over her." Susan said in an interview.
"She was very discreet and never gave anything away.
"All she said was that she had a daughter who was in London and so we naturally assumed everything she bought was for her daughter.
"I wasn't in the shop the day she came and my sister served her but she spoke with her daughter during her visit here," she continued.
Charlotte's mom and grandmother are both fashion icons, so it is safe to assume that the little girl has an innate fashion style in her veins.
