"19 Kids and Counting" stars Derick and Jill Dillard celebrated Mother's Day by introducing their new son, Israel David, to their local church congregation at his dedication service.
The young couple shared a sweet photo of the celebration on Instagram: "At Israel's dedication this morning we were challenged to raise him to love Jesus," Jill captioned the photo. "What a special Mother's Day! "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth." 3 John 1:4 #babydedication #MothersDay," she added.
"Baby Israel was dedicated today," a family source told E! News. "It was a dedication from the parents to raise the child as a Christian," the source added, emphasizing that Jill and Derick "looked great" and seemed to be "as close as ever."
Prior to baby Israel's dedication, which precedes baptism in the Baptist tradition, Jill opened up to People Magazine regarding the importance of the ceremony.
"Israel will be dedicated at our church, which is just an outward statement where we say we want to raise our child to love God and the church supports us in that," the young mother said.
In addition to spending time with both the Duggar and Dillard families in honor of Mother's Day, both Jill and Derick shared messages for their mothers on their family blog.
"So grateful to God for you as my mother and you're just a godly example of what a mother should be like and I hope to be like you," Jill said in a video message addressed to Michelle Duggar.
Derick also posted a photo of his mom, Cathy Dillard, holding baby Israel, and revealed this year was even more meaningful for his family "because Mother's Day 2014 was almost my last with my mom."
"This year my mom is celebrating not only Mother's Day, but also her first Mother's Day as a grandmother," he wrote. "My mom's story of battle and triumph over cancer is nothing short of a miracle, performed by the one true God, our Lord Jesus Christ, through many medical personnel to whom I am eternally grateful."
Meanwhile, Michelle revealed that as a mother and grandmother, her greatest joy has been watching her children grow to love the Lord and love others.
"As you see your children growing, you see them catching the vision of what you've been trying to pour into their lives, Michelle explained in a TLC video clip. "When I see my children loving God and loving others, I think that's the best ever. That sums up the whole thing of motherhood for me: they love the Lord and they love others."
