"19 Kids and Counting" star Jill Dillard has praised her husband, Derick, for truly "loving and cherishing" her throughout even the most difficult of times and shared some wise, Biblically-sound advice for married couples.
On Wednesday, the 23 year old Duggar daughter took to social media to share a sweet photo of her husband holding their son, Israel David, who was born on April 6.
"[Derick], I'm forever in LOVE with you!" she captioned a recent Instagram photo. "You're the best hubby and papa! I'm so blessed! Thank you for loving God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength! I'm your greatest admirer!"
Last June, Derick and Jill married in a ceremony attended by over 1,000 guests after a 7-month courtship. The couple' relationship received a great deal of media attention, with viewers expressing both admiration and astonishment at the couple's conservative dating methods, including no hold handing, side hugs, and chaperones on every date.
"We want to save the physical side of our relationship for our wedding day and not go further than we should. If you are kissing, it gets more intimate," she explained at the time.
After spending time with Derick and witnessing his obvious love for the Lord and passion for serving others, Jill was "beyond excited" to marry him.
"The more I spent time with him and observed his integrity, sweet spirit and love for God and service to others, the more I fell in love with him!" she said.
Almost a year later, Jill has also shared some wise advice regarding marriage and how Christian couples can best support one another.
"Ladies, we must continue to uplift our men in prayer. They need our support and respect!" she wrote on Wednesday. "Men, be the servant leader your wife will admire! She needs to hear how much you love her...& not just weekly...let her know it every day!" Jill continues.
In addition to enjoying his role as a husband, Derick, 25, has said he "loves" every minute of fatherhood. He recently posted a sweet Instagram photo of his wife and son, which he captioned, "My two favorite people in the world!"
Speaking to People magazine after Israel's birth, Jill, who underwent a difficult 70 hour labor before undergoing an emergency C-section, said: '[The baby's] birth didn't go as expected, but having him here - it's worth all of it. I wouldn't do anything differently.'
She also said that she 'loved' their birth story as it 'bonded' the couple further, adding: 'I still haven't changed a single diaper. Derick has been changing them all.'
While she notes that she and her husband are "far from perfect," Jill thanks her "sweet Derick" for going above and beyond to love and cherish her. "Thank you babe for all you do!" she writes.
