'Duck Dynasty' stars Willie and Sadie Robertson recently shared their excitement regarding the new Broadway musical, 'Duck Commander,' following its Las Vegas premiere.
On Wednesday evening, the 17-year old model took to Instagram to post a beautiful photo of herself and her soon-to-be-sister in law, Mary Kate McEachern following the performance, which took place at the Crown Theater inside the Rio All-Suite Las Vegas Hotel.
"We laughed, we cried, and then we laughed so hard we cried," she captioned the photo. "Proud of my mom, dad, and whole family. So amazing. Thanking God for it all & praying to God this musical touches people's life. it sure did touch mine."
Based on the best-selling book "The Duck Commander Family," the 90 minute musical features the Robertson's rags-to-riches story and how faith, family and ducks built a multi-million dollar dynasty. According to the musical's press release, the expansive cast includes "11 of the most accomplished Broadway performers willing to come to Las Vegas" and promises a show "the entire family can see" with music that "fuses country, rock, gospel and pop."
"It's emotional at times," Willie Robertson recently told Fox News, explaining that the musical reminded him of all the difficult decision his family has had to make throughout the years. "I was crying watching it because you just think about if something were to happen differently, then none of this would have happened."
He added that the musical is particularly touching because it gives fans an intimate look into the Robertson's private struggles.
"The media scrutiny and all this thing we went through, all that's played out in the musical," Willie said.
In an earlier interview with the Christian Post, the reality television star also related "Duck Dynasty" to "The Duck Commander Musical," citing both as forms of entertainment that incorporate faith and provide "a beacon of light through Hollywood."
"On television we end in prayer, these are things that aren't done," Willie explained. "So in Vegas, we won't shy away from it."
Tony-Award nominated director Jeff Calhoun also revealed that he decided to take on the musical because it gives an honest look into the family's inspiring story.
"They really are living the American dream-and yes that's true for a lot of people but I'm not sure it's true for entire families by sticking together," Calhoun said.
"It starts in the present and goes back 25 years," he added. "I don't think people really understand what to expect. Fans will be pleasantly surprised how personal the story is ... it goes behind the scenes of the family with real emotional depth, hardship, and redemption."
