WWE 2K15's latest DLC, entitled NXT ArRival has just released, and with it comes new roster additions, but no new storyline as expected. But 2K isn't done with the downloadable content for the year as even more is expected to drop soon.
The NXT ArRival DLC is also not free for Season Pass holders, but it is greatly reduced for those members at a price of $6.99. The WWE 2K15 Season Pass itself is $24.99, which is said to save you over 20 percent off the cost of buying each DLC pack individually.
With the NXT DLC pack, you get access to several new playable characters, including former WWE Champion, NXT General Manager and Monday Night Raw announcer JBL; NXT Superstars Adam Rose and The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor); and NXT Diva Emma.
WWE 2K15 is a wrestling simulation game that was released on October 28, 2014 by 2K Sports. The game, as well as this latest DLC, was released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One consoles.
As with the WWE matches on television, the video game follows the storyline of several prominent wrestlers as they battle their way to the top. WWE 2K15 is meant to redefine the purpose of the franchise, making it more of a true wrestling game, rather than "a fighting game with WWE Superstars in it."
In addition to the storyline, the game focuses heavily on the matches between these wrestling superstars. Steel Cage Match, Hell in a Cell, Three Stages of Hell, and the Casket Match are examples of some of the matches available in the game.
In addition, WWE 2K15 is praised for its soundtrack which has been personally curated by wrestler John Cena, who was also featured on the game's cover. The soundtrack features several genres of music, including hip-hop, rock, and country.
Previous and upcoming DLC for the game includes One More Match that includes the 2011 rivalry between Christian and Randy Orton, Hall of Pain with Mark Henry's domination and path to the World Heavyweight Championship from 2011 through 2013, and Path of the Warrior that focuses on the career of the late Ultimate Warrior.
Another update in addition to this DLC came down for the game this week on the PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One that was made to address a few crashing, audio, and character creation issues.
The Path of Warrior DLC is still expected to drop very soon, and it should detail the life and career of the Ultimate Warrior. The character is played in the ring by James Brian Hellwig, who tragically lost his life on April 8, 2014 at the age of 54. The DLC, expected to drop just in time for the one-year anniversary of Hellwig's death, will pay homage to the championship wrestler.
