Popular country star Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, recently praised God for the birth of their newborn son, who shares a name with the Biblical prophet, Isaiah.
On Tuesday, the 31 year old "Something in the Water" singer shared the exciting news with fans via Twitter along with a sneak peek of the little boy: "Tiny hands and tiny feet-God has blessed us with an amazing gift! Isaiah Michael Fisher--born February 27," she wrote.
Underwood and Fisher, who have been married since July 2010, revealed they were expecting a child back in September. At the time, they used their dogs, Ace and Penny, to announce to the news.
Although the baby's gender was no surprise to fans-Brad Paisley famously revealed it at the Country Music Awards in November-the couple kept his name under wraps, only telling People Magazine "It's something we need to lock down here pretty soon."
Underwood later added, "We might wait until we meet him, and then see what he looks like [before naming him]."
The "Jesus Take the Wheel" singer's strong dedication to her Christian faith has led many fans to speculate that the name "Isaiah"-literally translated from the Hebrew as "The Salvation of the Lord"--was likely inspired by the Old Testament prophet who spoke of Jesus' birth.
"Love that Carrie Underwood named her baby boy after a great man of God!" one fan wrote on Twitter.
Added another, "God bless you as you raise this precious boy to know and serve The Lord. Children are indeed a blessing from God. Congratulations and welcome here precious Isaiah!"
Several weeks ago, Fisher revealed that he and his wife were relying on God to take care of "the next little bit" ahead of the baby's birth.
"She is having a good pregnancy," the Nashville Predators player told The Tennessean. "Everything has been going great so we're blessed that way and praying that everything will go well for the next little bit."
He added, "It's something we're really looking forward to. I'm just thinking about wanting to be the best dad I can be."
In the meantime, Underwood says that while the pregnancy process is "beautiful," she's excited to once again get back in shape.
"Just knowing that the whole process itself is really beautiful ... Even when I feel pretty large, it really is such a miracle and such a beautiful thing," the country icon told PEOPLE last month.
"[But] "I'm looking forward to reclaiming my body," she admitted. "I've been saying it's been on loan for the past many months ... I'm excited to take it back."
