Christian Man Asks 13 Gay-Owned Bakeries To Create Pro-Traditional Marriage Cakes to Prove a Point, All Deny Request

Following a recent trend of Christian bakeries being targeted for refusing to bake cakes with gay marriage slogans, Theodore Shoebat decided to turn the tables on gay-owned bakeries and see how they'd react.

Shoebat called 13 pro-gay bakeries to ask for a cake with the words "Gay Marriage is Wrong" decorated on the front and recorded the reactions on video. In the same spirit as those asking for gay marriage support on their own cakes, Shoebat asked for the slogan to prove a bold point.

"If anyone who objects saying that our request for the cake was hateful, this is exactly the type of thing the homosexual activists do to Christian bakeries when they use the state to coerce them to make a cake with an explicitly anti traditional marriage slogans on it," Shoebat said on his website.

The inspiration for this two-part video is the recent string of news stories regarding the threats against Christian bakeries (and other small businesses) for refusing service to those looking to get pro-gay slogans on cakes to celebrate gay marriage.

In particular, Shoebat cites the situation in Ireland where Daniel McArthur, general manager of Northern Ireland's Ashers Baking Company, was facing possible legal action when he turned down a request to decorate a cake with the words "Support Gay Marriage."

The Equality Commission for Northern Ireland contacted the baker, demanding compensation for what they call a breach of legislation. Shoebat shows the video of McArthur's appearance on the BBC to further his point.

"The homosexual activist in this video said you can't choose who you serve, as though he is taking a purely objective position, but when we ask for an anti-gay marriage cake, all of a sudden the saying of 'you can't choose who you serve,' does not apply to us," Shoebat said.

The reactions from the bakeries called by Shoebat vary, but many are extremely hostile, as heard on the video. "Each one denied us service, and even used deviant insults and obscenities against us," Shoebat explains. "One baker even said that she would make me a cookie with a large phallus on it."

"In conclusion, here is our point," the blog post continues. "A Christian making a homosexual cake goes against his faith and a homosexual putting 'gay marriage is wrong' goes against his faith as well. Now of course we honor their right to say no, but what about honoring the Christian right to say no?"

Shoebat's post goes on to explain more about what he sees as the gay agenda, even calling out fellow Christians who are in support of gay marriage. "Some who say they are 'Christians' support such gay agenda and we ask, imagine if someday the Antichrist is here and you as a Christian was to put 'support Antichrist' on a cake, or lets say take his mark on your right hand or forehead, would you do it?

"The big lie of the homosexual agenda is this: They claim that they are only fighting for equality and tolerance," Shoebat states. "This is false."
