Dove award winning band NEEDTOBREATHE will perform at this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, one of the biggest holiday events in the United States.
According to a press release, the band, comprised of brothers Bear and Bo Rinehart, Seth Bolt and Josh Lovelace will debut their new single, "Brother," on board South Dakota Department of Tourism's Mount Rushmore's American Pride float which depicts the natural landscapes and iconic landmarks of that Midwestern state.
"As if we didn't have enough to be thankful for this year, we'll will be performing at the 88th Annual #MacysParade on Thanksgiving!" the band tweeted.
"This has been a wonderful year and we have a long list of things to be thankful for - so tune in and celebrate with us!" the NEEDTOBREATHE added on their Facebook page.
The parade, which will take place in New York City this Thanksgiving for the 88th year in a row, is viewed by over 50 million television viewers nationwide. Over 8,000 participants including Macy's employees, their families, celebrities, athletes, clowns, floats and marching bands walk 2 miles to spread holiday cheer to viewers.
"What better way to spread to spread the Gospel to millions of people than through music and thanksgiving?" said Pastor Rick Mumphrey, who pastors a church along the parade route.
"NEEDTOBREATHE has a tremendous opportunity to share the word of God by participating in the Macy's Day Parade."
"Brother," from the band's 2014 chart-topping fifth studio album Rivers In the Wasteland, will be released as a single in January. The band's previous single, "Multiplied," also topped charts and was nominated for Rock/Contemporary Song of the Year at the 45th Annual GMA Dove Awards. Currently, NEEDTOBREATHE is busy finalizing its 2015 tour plans, which will include its first-ever tour of Australia.
Other artists joining Needtobreathe include Nick Jonas, KISS, Meghan Trainor, Idina Menzel and many others. The event will be hosted by Today Show anchors Matt Lauer, Al Roker, and Savannah Guthrie.
Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is broadcast nationally on NBC-TV, from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, in all time zones.
