With the series tied at 1-1, The St. Louis Cardinals will host the Los Angeles Dodgers Monday, October 6 at 9:00 p.m. ET at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals have scored 12 runs, seven on homers in this series against LA. The Dodgers have scored 12 runs, five on homers.
The Dodgers blew a 6-2 lead by giving up eight runs in the seventh inning of Game 1, but Matt Kemp put the Dodgers back on top with a home run in the bottom of the eighth inning in a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 2.
Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu will start against the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 3. Ryu, who was 14-7 with a 3.38 ERA in 26 starts this season, hasn't pitched since shoulder woes forced a shutdown on Sept. 12.
John Lackey will start the game for the Cards. He is 5-3 with a 1.93 ERA in 11 career appearances (10 starts) against the Dodgers. It is first his first home game with the Cardinals. Lackey was brought into St. Louis via a trade with the Red Sox in part because the right-hander has so much postseason experience. He beat the Cardinals last year in the deciding Game 6 of the World Series, and he also won Game 7 of the 2002 World Series while an Angels rookie.
