Buffalo is hoping big 74 will come back this week and stabilize the o-line.
This early in the season, each week brings a potential upswing in the season, and both the Buffalo Bills and the Houston Texans are looking to bounce back after losing in week 3. Both teams started off winning two games, and then losing the third, and only one of them will get back to winning this week.
Bills vs. Texans game will start at NRG Stadium in Houston at 1 p.m. EST , and it will be on CBS and can be watched online via livestream on the links below (free with subscription).
For Buffalo to win, they are going to need their offensive line to handle their business this week. They are hoping to have starter Chris Williams back, but he went down in an injury in last week's game against the Chargers. If he can't go against the Texans this week, it will be up to rookie Cyril Richardson to get it done at guard. Richardson, or Williams if he is ready, going against J.J. Watt and company, will prove to be a key matchup for this game. If the O-line is strong look for the Bills to lean heavy on the run game against Texas.
Watt wants the defense back on track this week.
On Defense, the Bills are hoping their former quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick can't slice them and dice them the way Philip Rivers did last week. Rivers had a passer rating of 131.4 in the beatdown, and showed a lot of vulnerability in the Bills secondary. No matter, the Texans will probably lean on their running game if Arian Foster is healthy this week. Last week Alfred Blue got most of the carries. He ran the ball 13 times for 78 yards.
If Foster can't go, it will be up to Fitzpatrick to work some magic on offense for the Texans. He turned in a terrible performance in the loss to the Giants last week, though. He only completed 20-of-34 passes for 289 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. In the first two games he didn't throw a pic, and turnovers really hurt the Texans last week. If the Texans are going to win against the Bills, Fitzpatrick will need to cut down on the interceptions and play smart football.
The Texans D gave up thirty points to the Giants, but they didn't allow more than 17 in the two games prior. They need to limit the Bills offense, and the way to do that is to shut down the run. Bills quarterback EJ Manuel can pass the ball, but they are definitely a run first team. The Giants pounded out 193 rushing yards against the Texans last week, and the defense can't allow that to happen again this week if they want to win.
