Sony has delayed releasing the October free games list for Playstation Plus, due to the impending DriveClub launch.
"At present it looks like the next batch of Plus games will go live on Oct. 8," spokesperson Fred Dutton wrote in the European Playstation blog. "So, look out for the announcement on or around Oct. 1."
PS Plus subscribers are usually updated with the free games list one week ahead of the new month. In other words, the October list would have been unveiled to the public by now. Instead, Sony is holding back the upcoming PS Plus free games schedule to coincide with the DriveClub release schedule.
"DriveClub will be in addition to your regular PS Plus allocation," Dutton explained. "There's loads of content included. Do try it out - I think you'll have a great time with it, and at no additional cost to your wallet."
The DriveClub release date is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 10. That means gamers with PS Plus subscription will have the opportunity to try out the game two days ahead of everyone. Developed by Evolution Studios, DriveClub is going to be a Playstation 4 exclusive.
When the free games become available on Oct.8, there will be two free games each for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. A monthly subscription costs $9.99. However, players can buy a year's subscription for $49.99.
Sony also offers 14-day free trial, which is available at their official online store.
