While Carolina played without Pro Bowl defensive end Greg Hardy, they had three takeaways and held Matthew Stafford and the Lions scoreless in the first half. This showed the Panthers' defensive prowess as Stafford and company had just put up 35 points against the Giants in the previous week.
Hardy was placed as inactive for his conviction on two counts of domestic violence on July 15.
Based on the games played so far by the two teams, the Panthers are poised to win the Sunday Night Football.
