The Redskins (1-1) vs. Eagles (2-0) football game will begin at 10 a.m. PT at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Penn. Going into Week 3, the Redskins is ranked 3rd in NFC East division, with offense lineup ranked among the top five in the league - rush offense ranks 3rd at 161 yards, total yards ranks 5th at 410.5 yards. Their pass offense is ranked 10th at 249.5 yards and average points per game ranked 16th at 23.5.
On defense, the Redskins is ranked 1st in yards (234.5), 3rd in pass yards (164.5), 4th in total points (13.5) and rush yards (70).
In Week 1, the Redskins lost their opener 6-17 to Texans, whose defensive tackle J. J. Watt had a sack, blocked an extra point, recovered a fumble and swatted down a pass.
In Week 2, the Redskins seemed to have awoken from their slumber and pummelled the Jaguars in a 41-10 blowout win. In first quarter, quarterback Robert Griffin III and DeSean Jackson were both injured, and Kirk Cousin substituted as quarterback and effectively finished the job with 22 of 33 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns. Moreover, Ryan Kerrigan had 10 of Redskins' sacks, and their defense didn't allow the Jaguars past midfield until the final two minutes of the first half.
Robert Griffin III is out with an ankle injury and will definitely not play, which means that Cousin will continue to lead from the pocket. Wide receiver DeSean Jackson is listed as questionable and had limited participation in practice.
Philadelphia Eagles are soaring high after two consecutive wins and is ranked 1st in NFC East. On offense, the Eagles is ranked 2nd in the league in points (32), yards (439) and pass yards (303), and 9th in rush yards (136). On defense, Philadelphia are ranked slightly better than average in the league.
In Week 1, they rallied from a 17-0 deficit to defeat the Jaguars 17-34. Nick Foles threw a 68 yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin in fourth quarter, and they scored a pair of touchdown in the third quarter, where Cody Parkey made a 51-yard field goal, then Fole made a deep throw for the longest pass of his career.
In Week 2 Monday Night Football, Foles and the Eagles won with a 30-27 win over the Colts, but had trailed behind the Colts for most of the night. It wasn't until Eagles' defense made an interception did Foles make a touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin, which led to another game winning field goal.
The Redskins vs. Eagles is a test between the league's top defensive team and the top offensive team. This matchup will put each team to show their grit in grinding out a win, which should make it one of the most exciting games to watch besides the Super Bowl rematch between Broncos and Seahawks this Sunday.
