The San Francisco 49ers is scheduled to play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, September 21, in Week 3 of 2014 NFL. The 49ers (1-1) vs. Cardinals (2-0) football game will begin at 1:05 p.m. PT at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The game can be watched online via live stream below (free with subscription), and on FOX Television Network.

The 49ers is ranked 3rd in NFC West. After beating the Cowboys 28-17 in Week 1 away game, the 49ers came home for their Levi's Stadium debut, attempting to clinch a win. Despite their lead of 10 points in 1st quarter, the 49ers defense were unable to keep the Jay Cutler at Bay, as the Bears QB passed three fourth-quarter touchdowns after much of the Chicago's starting defense went down.

To further spoil the debut, San Francisco's Colin Kaepernick was penalized with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for "inappropriate language."

On 49ers offense, Kaepernick is going 37-57, with 449 yards and three pass touchdowns, and running back Frank Gore has 129 yards in 29 carries and one touchdown. The quarterback passed the balls to mainly wide receivers Anquan Bolden, who had 10 catches with 133 yards, WR Michael Crabtree, with 9 catches and 107 yards, and TE Vernon Davis, who had 7 catches and two touchdowns.

On defense, San Francisco is ranked 6th in yards and 7th in rush yards, but its pass yard is slightly better than average and points at 18th.

Among the players injured, TE Vernon Davis, T Anthony Davis, CB Tramaine Brock, TE Vance McDonald are listed as questionable, and even Kaepernick is suffering from a back problem, though he participated fully during practice and is likely to play.

The Cardinals are looking for three consecutive wins, as they are placed first in the NFC West. In Week 2, they beat the Giants 25-14 despite playing without injured starting quarterback Carson Palmer. QB Drew Stanton, who hasn't play in a regular-season game since 2010, led the Cardinals on three long scoring drives.

On defense, Arizona made three interceptions on Giants' QB Eli Manning, giving the offense ample room to stay entrenched in the lead. The Cardinals are ranked 7th in points, 3rd in rush yards, and 10th in total yards. If they want to continue to maintain their winning streak, they will need to improve their pass defense, especially against the adept 49ers' receivers.
