The Oakland Raiders is scheduled to play against the New England Patriots on Sunday, September 21, 2014, in Week 3 of the 2014 NFL. The Raiders (0-2) vs. Patriots (1-1) football game will begin at 10 a.m. PT at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. The game can be watched online via live stream below (free with subscription), or on CBS Television Network.

The Raiders have lost both games against the Houston Texans and the New York Jets, and the Patriots do not look like an easier team. Unless the Raiders shape up, they should not expect to turn their downward drive around, especially not against Hall of Famer Tom Brady and the Patriots.

On offense, the Raiders' rookie quarterback Dereck Carr is going 47-74, with 414 yards and three pass touchdowns, stats that are comparable to that of Brady's, 43-77 with 398 yards and two pass touchdowns.

So what could be the problem? The Raiders is ranked 31st in rush yards and yards per game. Comparing the two team's rush yards so far, Raiders have 126 yards and the Patriots have more than three times the distance. With Carr rushing 57 yards in 5 carries, a quarterback making close to half of the total rush yards, the coach may need to think of better ways to play the team's starters.

On defense, the Raiders are ranked 2nd in pass yards allowed, which is about the only thing that they've done well so far. If they can stop Brady through consistent pass defense and improve their rush defense at least to the league's average, they may have a chance on Sunday. Oakland is expected to struggle to make the improvements.

On Patriots' offense, the Brady is going 43-77, with 398 yards and two pass touchdowns. Running backs Stevan Ridley carried 33, with 122 yards and one touchdown, Shane Vereen has 76 rush yards and one touchdown in 13 carries. Wide receiver Julian Edelman has an impressive 176 yards from 12 catches.

The Patriots are ranked 9th in total points and little below average in rush yards, and 27th in their total yards and pass yards. While the Patriots pass offense are getting a slow start, the team has confidence in Brady, who has led the team to multiple comebacks. In last season's playoff, the Patriots pulled off an incredible comeback win from down 27 points against the Denver Broncos.

On defense, the Patriots are ranked 4th in total yards and pass yards allowed. From the looks of the two teams' stats, Raiders may have a chance, but they won't have an easy time.
