A group of Marines at Camp Pendleton recently displayed what it means to "worship the Lord with gladness" by singing "Days of Elijah," an upbeat Christian worship song about hope and faith.
In a viral video, a number of soldiers exuberantly wave their hands and shout, "Oorah!" as they sing the praise and worship song in unison. A woman named Merrie Pardee Baldwin first posted the video on Sunday of the men who were gathered over the weekend at a Faith Warrior service at the California military installation.
"Participatory worship. I love how excited the men get to sing this song & the camaraderie," wrote Baldwin.
"This is one of my favorite things about coming each month for the Faith Warrior service," she continued. "They bless me MUCH more than they know."
The worshipful video also inspired the thousands of people who viewed it:
"Humbled by their love for God and their country! Completely brought to tears...if only our churches would worship so freely..and with such conviction," a woman named Cindy Lutz wrote underneath the video on YouTube.
"This video had my heart swelling with pride and brought a tear to my eyes. God Bless them one and all and the USA! I will pray for them..and, that God will keep them and us all safe in the turbulent times that lay ahead!" wrote a commenter named Vickie Virt.
Baldwin also posted a video of the Marines singing Hillsong United's hit worship song, "Oceans" ("Where Feet May Fail").
"I'm singing along with this fabulous song and loving that these are the people who are protecting my freedom," wrote Karen Overton.
"God bless you guys, worldwide, that love your country and love the Lord."
