The Pittsburgh Steelers will be playing against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland. Coming off a close game win against the Browns, Steelers will take on the Ravens who just dropped one of their key players Ray Rice to domestic violence against his wife. As both teams have shown brilliant plays in their season openers, the Thursday Night Football game of Week 2 is bound to be filled with no less action than Week 1.
The Steelers vs. Ravens game will begin at 5:25 p.m. PT and will be aired live on CBS and NFL Network. Those wanting to watch the game online can opt in to the live stream links below (free for subscribers).
Although Pittsburgh blew a 24-point halftime lead as Browns rallied behind quarterback Brian Hoyer, Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver Markus Wheaton tipped the 27-27 tie in the 4th quarter with 4:05 remaining. Roethlisberger passed for 265 yards and touchdown, and Shaun Suisham drilled a 41-yard field goal to lift the Steelers to a 30-27 win on Sunday.
During a long punt return, Steelers' Antonio Brown dodged numerous defensive players, but ended his run with the unthinkable, a flying high-kick with his cleats, landing right in Cleveland punter Spencer Lanning's facemask and knocking him over. Brown was hit with a 15-yard penalty for unnecessary roughness, and will likely receive a FedEx letter from the league's office.
Offsetting Cincinnati Bengals' 15-point lead, the Ravens rallied behind quarterback Joe Flacco, who threw for 345 yards and one touchdown. Ravens newcomer Steve Smith caught an 80-yard touchdown, but that point were quickly nullified by Bengals' A.J. Green, who caught a 77-yard touchdown pass from Andy Dalton with 4:58 left.
If Ravens want to beat the Steelers, they must be able to convert their offensive gains in yards to points, and improve their running plays. Up until week 1, Baltimore has the following league ranks: 5th in yards per game (420 yds), 7th in pass yards (329 yards), 26th in points (16 points), and 20th in rush yards (91 yards). Moreover, Ravens defense must be able to stop Roethlisberger in the sack and disrupt Steelers passing games to have any chance of winning on their home field.
The Steelers has the following league rank in stats per game: 2nd in yards per game (490 yards), pass yards (363 yards), 11th in rush yards (127 yards), and 9th in points (30 points). On defense, Steelers are poorly equipped as seen in their opening game against the Browns. If their defense don't shape up, the possibility of an upset win by Ravens is very likely to happen this Thursday.
