Lenovo will soon launch the Vibe X2 at a public press gathering scheduled one day before IFA 2014 begins.
In a tweet promoting the event, Lenovo hinted that the Vibe X2 will be running on the next-gen Android Lollipop operating system. The Chinese company also poked fun at Apple's recent unveiling event invitation that states, "Wish we could say more". Lenovo responded with the message, "We can't say anything either".
Rival Apple is scheduled to host an event on Sept. 9, showcasing its newest devices. This year's more highly-anticipated Apple products include the iWatch and iPhone 6. Both of these devices are expected to show at IFA 2014.
Notwithstanding, the Vibe X2 is the subject of a number of photo leaks that were made in anticipation for the IFA 2014 buzz. Recently, Android Community reposted pictures that were originally shared in social media originating from China. Based on these photos, the device seems to have a durable metal cover.
It is generally believed in the rumor mill that the Vibe X2 has two variants. The first may have the Media Tek MT6596M octa-core processor, while the second may possess the slightly downgraded 2.2 GHz Intel SoC.
Both versions may have a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution. Regarding performance, the device may have 2 GB RAM and 16-32 GB of internal storage. The Lenovo Vibe X2 may also have a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. For 'selfies', consumers can utilize the phone's 5-megapixel front camera.
IFA 2014 is scheduled to be held on Sept. 5 thru 10 in Berlin, Germany.
