Ubisoft's The Crew will undergo yet another round of beta testing in late September, but only for a limited number of PS4 and Xbox One players.
This beta represents the third in a series of public trials stretching back two months ago. The first two betas were released in July and August for PC version of the game. At this time, players can still sign up for beta testing on The Crew's official website. Participants can either register for the PS4 or Xbox One beta.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft recently announced that The Crew is also coming to the Xbox 360 console. On Wednesday, Aug 13, a senior Ubisoft executive revealed that his company was seeking to address the needs of players still using current-gen hardware.
"It's Ubisoft's objective to continue to meet the needs of consumers who have not yet made the move to the new console generation," Ubisoft Senior VP of Sales and Marketing Tony Key told IGN.
However, the game will not be available for the Playstation 3 console. Key explained the decision was made because the Xbox 360 was "closest to the new-gen" consoles such as the PS4 and Xbox One. The open sandbox racing game will also not be coming to the Wii U. Besides the Xbox 360, The Crew will be released across other platforms including PS4, Xbox One, and the PC.
Of an important reminder, what is seen in the beta may not be included in the final release version of the game. The first two betas had a few bugs, but were generally well-received by critics. Hopefully, problems in the earlier betas will be resolved by the final release.
The Crew is coming to stores on Nov. 11 for the PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. PC users can pre-order the game on either Uplay or Steam.
