Recently married couple Jill Duggar and husband Derick Dillard are celebrating their one-year "Skypivesary" to commemorate the day they had their first Skype session.
"Celebrating our 'Skypiversary.' One year ago today my husband and I Skyped for the first time!" Duggar captioned her latest Instagram photo.
When Jill and Derick began dating in August 2013, they were forced to communicate via technology as Derick was serving as a missionary in Nepal at the time. The couple was set up by Duggar patriarch Jim Bob, who later took Jill to Nepal so that the couple could formally meet.
"When my dad first introduced Derick and I [remotely], we spent hours texting, calling, and talking on Skype while 8,000 miles away from each other," Duggar told ABC News in April 2014. "And when we finally met in person in Nepal, we knew within days that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together."
The couple loves to celebrate their relationship; back in July, just days after their wedding, the newlyweds shared an Instagram photo from their honeymoon in celebration of their "weekiversary."
And one week after that, they posted a kissing pic in honor of their "second weekiversary." "Happy Independence Day," Duggar, 23, wrote. "So grateful for our Godly founding fathers! #4thofjuly #jilldilard #derickdilard #independenceday #19kidsandcounting."
Prior to their marriage, Jill and Derick engaged in a traditional form of dating known as "courting." Rules included no kissing or physical contact, except for hand-holding and side hugs.
"Dating with a purposeful mind-set is really such a contrast from what we are used to seeing in our world," the family matriarch, Michelle, explained to PEOPLE. "Emotions get heated the closer you get. You're like two magnets being pulled together," she added. "You need boundaries."
The couple's first kiss was also saved until they exchanged vows-something that was highly important to them.
"We want to think about the importance of marriage," Jill told People following her wedding. "And what it means to be married. It was worth the wait."
Since their marriage, Jill has shared her happiness via social media, often posting sweet pictures of herself and Derick on Instagram . Recently, the couple spoke on purity and relationships at a conference held in Little Rock, AR.
The eldest member of the Duggar clan, Josh, has been married to his wife Anna since 2008 and the couple have three children. Jessa Duggar also recently announced her engagement to boyfriend of 11 months, Ben Seewald.
"We would like to encourage the young people out there who are considering a relationship or getting married, to wait for God's best in their life partner," Josh and Anna wrote on their website. "If you have made mistakes, start from where you are and let God be the sole proprietor of your life ... including your love life! God is interested in you & the relationships in your life!"
Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar have been married for 30 years and often provide wisdom and guidance to their children concerning faith and marriage.
"The Duggar family gets asked a lot of questions," Seewald told People. "A lot of times we take it as a lesson, and we ask other people who are older and wiser than us to share wisdom with us about relationships. It's an important thing."
