Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date rumors have flooded the web in the past days, suggesting a possible launch next month.
Recent photo leaks and a promotional campaign indicate that there are many activities going on in Samsung. Based on these developments, there are hints that the company is gearing up for something big.
In August, it was rumored that Samsung was planning to launch the Galaxy Note 4 before the highly-anticipated release of the Apple iPhone 6. As such, the South Korean tech giant may introduce their flagship mobile at this September at the IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin, Germany. This speculation has certainly been backed up by recent events.
Galaxy Note 4 to Be Unveiled at Private Samsung Gathering
Last month, GottaBeMobile confirmed that Samsung is hosting an invite-only event in New York City on Sept. 3. A small number of journalists have received invitations that read, "Ready? Note the Date!"
This suggests that Samsung is showcasing the newest version of its Galaxy Note series, which happens to be the Galaxy Note 4. It still remains to be seen if Samsung will start selling the device on the same day of its unveiling event.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Promotion Starting in China
Not surprisingly, Samsung has already started pushing the Galaxy Note 4 to China -- the world's largest consumer base. Galaxy Note 4 posters have begun showing up at bus stops in China's capitol of Beijing.
Recently, the tech company has released a promotional video on its official China website. In the commercial, the Galaxy Note 4 somehow brings harmony to a dysfunctional Chinese family. Hidden promises aside, Samsung publically confirmed the phone's existence in China.
Curiously, Samsung has not been promoting the Galaxy Note 4 anywhere else in the world. Even so, there may be an explanation to why the company is going to China first. It is no secret that Samsung shares a bitter rivalry with Apple, whose products are a status symbol in China's class-conscious society. So, Samsung may be attempting to even the odds by promoting its Galaxy Note 4, ahead of the official Apple iPhone 6 announcement.
Naturally, it is more than likely that the Galaxy Note 4 will reach the U.S. and European market at roughly the same time of the China launch.
Image Leaks Show Galaxy Note 4 Retail Box
On Monday, Aug. 11, GSMarena leaked images of what appears to be the Galaxy Note 4. The photos feature a metallic device with leather-like texture on the back. There is an S Pen holster on the side, along with a speaker grill and microUSB 3.0 port beneath the phone. A heartbeat sensor can be seen next to the camera lens.
The same day, Phone Arena released a photo showing the alleged retail box for the upcoming mobile device. Interestingly, both sources show a device similar in physical appearance from the front side. This consistency adds a small measure of credibility to the two recent photo leaks.
Until then, consumers will need to wait patiently for Samsung to confirm the Galaxy Note 4's actual appearance at the upcoming unveiling event in early September 2014.
