Motorola's may launch the Moto X+1 and Moto G2 in the month of September, according to the latest round of rumors from tech gossip circles.
On Monday, Aug. 11, GSM Arena claimed that the Moto G2 will have its release date on Sept. 10, based on information from an unnamed retailer. Also dubbed the Moto G+1, the Moto G2 is believed to be the successor to the original Moto G smartphone.
Just two days prior, the same site reported that Verizon will start selling the Moto X+1 on Sept. 25 launch date. GSM Arena also believed that other carriers may start selling the smartphone before Verizon does, suggesting an earlier launch date for the mobile phone. Like the Moto G2, the Moto X+1 is the successor to the older Moto X device. The Moto X+1 is also called the Moto X2 by other sources.
There is still no official word concerning the specs for both devices. It has been rumored that the Moto G2 will run on the quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB RAM. The device may sport a 720p resolution screen that is 5-inches diagonally. For internal storage, the Moto G2 may have upwards to 8 GB of space. The wireless device may include an 8 megapixel camera in the rear.
In contrast, the Moto X+1 may feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2 GB RAM. The Moto X+1's screen is capable of pulling 1080p resolution, with a screen size between 5.1-inch or 5.2-inch. Additionally, the device has a relatively large 12 megapixel rear-facing camera.
The release of the Moto X+1 and Moto G2 may coincide with the introduction of the Moto 360 smartwatch, which was the subject of a massive photo leak last week. All three highly-anticipated devices are expected to run on the latest Android software. The Moto X+1 and Moto G2 may run on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS, while the Moto 360 may have the Android Wear OS that is specifically designed for smartwatches.
