In 2013 overall NFL Rankings, the Bills finished 10th overall in passing yards (223.3 yds) and 14th in rushing yards at 14th overall (108.9 yds). The Giants, on the other hand, completed 19th overall in passing yards (224.3 yds), but 29th in rushing yards (83.3 yds).
Among the 6-10 overall game stats in 2013, Bills had 3-3 vs AFC East and 5-7 vs AFC. Their team leaders were quarterback EJ Manuel, who had 1972 pass yards, running back C.J. Spiller, who had 933 rush yards, and tight end Scott Chandler, who had 655 receiving yards. (Change links to NFL.com and E
The Giants ended their 2013 regular season with a 7-9 overall, 3-3 in games against teams in NFC East and 6-6 in NFC. Their teams leaders were quarterback Eli Manning, who had 3,818 pass yards, running back Andre Brown, who had 492 rush yards but had since then been traded to Houston Texans, and wide receiver Victor Cruz, who had 998 receiving yards.
Both teams had put a performance that had largely disappointed their fans, so the Giants and Bills management had to make some changes through trades and draft picks. And the Giants have made some exceptional draft picks, including LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who's explosiveness and rare body control as a complete receiver make him one of the most talented return men in this class. He is also expected to complement Victor Cruz on the receiving end of Eli Manning's passes.
While Manning had just been inducted into the Hall of Fame, some question whether he would be able to regain momentum after finishing with his career's lowest completion percentage (57.5 percent) since 2007. However, the brother of Peyton Manning believes that he knows what needs to be done in order to bounce back and lead his team to a better outcome than last season.
"If we set up faster, it should reveal how the defense is reacting to us sooner," he said, according to New York Times. "If we've got a great play called for that defense, then we run it. If we have a play called with no chance for success, we can get into our other options. It gives me more time to decipher what to do and get the right play called without being rushed."
