Mosab Hassan Yousef speaks to CNN about the horrific goals of the terrorist group Hamas
The son of a Hamas leader who rejected their ideology and turned to Christianity has denounced the terrorist group for its "worship of death" and its horrific indoctrination of young children.
In a recent interview with CNN, Mosab Hassan Yousef, a Hamas defector who worked for 10 years as an informer for the Shin Bet, explained the dark reality of Gaza's rulers.
"Hamas does not care about the lives of Palestinians, or the lives of Israelis, or Americans; they don't care about their own lives," Yousef said. "They consider dying for their ideology a way of worship."
When asked if it was possible to coexist with a group like Hamas, Yousef responded, "Hamas is not seeking coexistence and compromise; Hamas is seeking conquest," he added. "The destruction of the state of Israel is not the Hamas final destination."
Rather, the goal of the terrorist group, Yousef added, is to build an Islamic state "on the rubble of every other civilization."
The "Son of Hamas" author revealed that like him, Palestinian children are brainwashed by the terrorist group from a very young age.
"In the mosques, Hamas told us that without shedding innocent blood for the sake of the ideology we will not be able to build an Islamic state," he said. "At five-years-old, that is what they were feeding us."
Yousef, who was disowned by his father, West Bank leader Hassan Yousef after converting to Christianity, said it is almost impossible for those indoctrinated to ever find freedom.
"Honestly, it's impossible for anybody to break through and see the truth and the real face of Hamas, and be able to leave at some point," he said.
"As you see in my case, I had to lose everything just to say no to Hamas. And today when I look at the children of Gaza and see what they're fed, I know they have no choice."
Yousef spent a decade as an informant for the Israeli military before seeking political asylum in the United States. His story is documented in a film titled, "The Green Prince." Last month, Yousef's father was arrested as part of the search to find three Israeli teenagers who were abducted and slain in June by Hamas as they hitchhiked near Hebron. The teens' bodies were later found in a field near the city.
