Former NFL player Tim Tebow recently stated that while he is anxious to return to professional football, he is putting his career in God's hands.
"One of my favorite quotes is, 'I don't know what my future holds, but I know Who holds my future,'" he told KSAZ-TV. "And that it gives you peace to just continue to work and go after what your heart desires, and when you do that you don't have any regrets and I think that's the best way to live life."
The former Broncos Jets and Florida Gators player is working hard to stay in NFL shape by working out at a Performance Enhancement Professionals facility in Scottsdale, Ariz., to Los Angeles, led by quarterback guru Tom House.
"I feel great," Tebow said. "I feel the strongest, healthiest, throwing the best I ever have. I'm just really excited about the improvement."
Tebow was cut by the Patriots before the start of last season and hasn't been a full-time starter in the NFL since the 2011 season.
However, the 26 year old former Heisman Trophy winner is not giving up on his dream to play professional football.
"I'm training every day and feel like I'm the best that I've ever been," Tebow told The Tennesseean.
"I still love it, love playing, talking about it, and I'm just excited about whatever the future holds. Who knows what could happen? But I'm excited about it, though."
While taking time off from football, the athlete has been anything but unproductive.
In May, Tebow spoke at the Central IL Fellowship of Christian Athletes where he helped raise money to "present the life-changing message of Jesus Christ."
"It's encouraging to see someone use their celebrity in such a great way-to spread the word of Christ," said Christian coach and FCA member Andrew Horne at the time. "Tim Tebow is doing the work of Christ in a pretty incredible way."
Earlier this year, Tebow also headlined an event to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Ouachita Christian School along with Duck Dynasty's Jase Robertson.
The Tim Tebow Foundation, which was started by the football player, seeks to "show God's love to children around the world" by providing medical care and hope to orphans and kids battling life threatening diseases.
Currently, Tebow works as an analyst for the SEC Network.
