Beyonce is known for her controversial and often sexually explicit music. However, the pop queen is currently changing her tune, reuniting with fellow "Destiny's Child" band members Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland to sing an inspiring song about Jesus Christ.
The song, titled "Say Yes," is the hit single from William's new faith-based album titled "Journey to Freedom" set for release later this year.
"This song is so inspiring, and there's not enough music out there this, and I'm proud to be a part of it," Beyonce told E! News.
According to Rolling Stone Magazine, Rowland and Knowles decided to lend their voices after hearing William's demo for the song, at the time titled "When Jesus Says Yes."
"They received an advance copy of the album and called, saying "We love "When Jesus Says Yes"...there has to be a Destiny's Child mix of the song," Williams told Rolling Stone Magazine.
"I'm so excited that I have my sisters here with me spreading a positive message for the world," she continued.
The lyrics to "Say Yes" boldly praise the power God and the reference the encompassing nature of Jesus' love.
Lyrics include the lines, "There's no limit to what You can do/Cause it all belongs to you/You're almighty, all powerful"...When Jesus say Yes/nobody can say No."
Wiliams acknowledged that her most recent album is a far cry from early Destiny's Child albums, saying she hopes to now encourage young Christians through her music.
"I kind of started noticing that even with my platform with Destiny's Child my individual calling something to do with evangelism, but not with the traditional way in a pulpit," she told The Blaze.
"I am to speak the word of God through my music and I even have opportunities, say in theater, or other things that I do individually...to just be a light."
However, Williams hopes her record will attract some of the original Destiny's Child fans as well.
'This is an urban inspiration record so sonically its very urban with pop infusion in there," William said. "I made sure that every genre of music I have ever done is in there."
"Say Yes" is produced by Harmony Samuels and based on a Nigerian gospel tune. "Journey for Freedom" is set for release September 9th of this year.
