The Grand Theft Auto V Online Heists update is being delayed, while a Hipster DLC update was recently released.
On Wednesday, Rockstar Games said in the comments section of its official blog that they had not expected the greater length of time needed to complete the upcoming Heist update.
"We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can," Rockstar stated. "Please know that we are focused as always on making the best possible content for you to play and we are thankful to all of you for your patience, understanding and support."
Back in early April, Rockstar had announced they were launching 'Online Heists' as a part of a lineup of spring 2014 updates for GTA 5's online portion. The other updates include the 'Online Creator' and 'High Life' updates that were respectively released in April and May.
According to Rockstar, the Heists update for Grand Theft Auto Online will allow players to "team up" with "trusted crew members or with random other mercenaries" in cooperative online heists missions. It is unclear when 'Online Heists' will be available.
Even so, there is still some good news as Rockstar recently announced at E3 2014 that they will be releasing revamped versions of the GTA V for the next-gen PS4 and Xbox One consoles, along with the PC.
Fans of controversial series should expect the GTA 5 rereleases in fall this year. Still, Rockstar did not give the exact launch dates of the rereleases at E3. So, fans will have to wait for further announcements.
'I'm Not a Hipster' Update Released
Meanwhile, the 'I'm Not a Hipster' DLC update has been available to players since Tuesday. The update parody features new content that includes retro print t-shirts, skinny jeans, hipster hairdos, tattoos, and animal masks.
"Express your incredible individualism and stand out from the herd with the post ironic, artisanal, organic, entirely independent, 100% re-claimed "I'm Not a Hipster" update," Rockstar announced.
Besides clothes, the Hipster update includes seven new nostalgia cars that are garishly named Rhapsody, Warrener, Blade, and Glendale. Other gags include an environmentally friendly vehicle called the Panto Microcar, which bears an uncanny resemblance to the real life Smart Car. Another highlight from the Hipster update is the 6-seater 'Dubsta' vehicle that is a near-perfect imitation of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6.
Weapons have also gotten an upgrade as players can now visit the game's fictional gun store Ammu-Nation for access to either the Vintage Pistol or Antique Cavalry Dagger. Twelve new jobs have been added to the game modes as well.
