'Bachelorette' Season 10 star Andi Dorfman takes her entourage of suitors to Marseilles, France this week - where tension on the set ends in three guys leaving the show.
At the center of this week's drama, 'pantspreneur' JJ O'Brien accuses Andrew Poole of making racist comments off camera, and spills the alleged secret to the show's sole-remaining African-American contestant Marquel Martin.
"Andrew was standing next to me at the first rose ceremony," J.J. O'Brien dished. "He [Andrew] nudged me after Ron [Worrell] got his rose and he goes, 'Oh, like, she gave it to the two blackies.'"
Marquel expresses disbelief, which turns to anger as he sheds tears on camera. Eventually, Marquel brings up the alleged offense to Andrew in front of the other guys after the mime show. Andrew vehemently denies making such a comment, and Marquel decides to drop the issue. The drama comes to naught after Andi boots both Marquel and Andrew off the show at the end of the episode. Contestant Patrick Jagodzinski is also eliminated - leaving eight remaining contestants. This development is unusual considering that normally only one contestant is removed per week.
Highlights from this week's episode include Andi going on a one-to-one date with basketball player Josh Murray, and a similar date with assistant-coach Brian Osborne. Andi takes Josh out for a boat trip on the Mediterranean, and later dines with him in a medieval castle. The date ends with Andi handing Josh a rose.
Perhaps the episode's most bizarre segment involved nine of the guys putting on a mime show in full view of a not-so-adoring French public. Apparently, the logic behind the display was an attempt to test each of the men's nonverbal communication skills. The men were decked out in striped shirts, and black bowler hats. Afterwards, JJ takes Andi on a carnival ride, and gets a rose for his efforts.
Coach Brian nearly drops the ball during his one-to-one cooking date with Andi. Brian brings the situation to near disaster when he mentions that he only eats mashed potatoes his grandma cooks, but does not know how to cook it. Suffice to say, Andi was not pleased. Luckily for Brian, it turns out the both of them are bad cooks. So, Andi and Brian end up eating out. During this time, Brian apologizes for failing to make a more romantic overture earlier, and is forgiven by Andi who hands him a rose.
The French episode was originally scheduled to air on ABC last week, but was postponed because the network decided to broadcast an exclusive interview with former First Lady, Hillary Clinton.
Season 10 of the 'Bachelorette' will continue with the cast moving on to Venice, Italy for a new episode that airs on June 23, Monday at 8 pm EST.
