Contrary to what Team USA Coach Jurgen Klinsmann said about not actually winning the World Cup this year, many fans would like to see the Americans go down to Brazil and win it all. If they have any chance at that, it starts on Monday when they meet Ghana. Then, if they are lucky, they have to outlast Germany and Portugal in a group where all four teams have a legitimate chance to win every match.

For the US, only five players have World Cup experience. Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore, Michael Bradley, DeMarcus Beasley and Tim Howard have been to this level before, but 18 of the players have never experience the cup, much less the cup in Brazil. Because of this, focus is the of the utmost importance for the squad.
This is actually the seventh consecutive World Cup for the U.S., and over that time Ghana has become somewhat of a rival for the U.S. In 2006, the Americans were knocked out of group play by Ghana. In 2010, Team USA again lost to Ghana. This year, Ghana is ranked 37th in the world, and the U.S. 13th, but the U.S. knows not to take the rankings for granted.
There are very few teams on the international level that are as well coached as Klinsmann's. Jozy Altidore and Clint Dempsey have to step up and give the creative spark that makes up for the lack of US Soccer staple, Landon Donovan. If the American's can stay focused, and run their game with a bit of creativity on offense, they may defeat Ghana this year.
Ghana has always been a strong competitor, especially for the US. Their best performance was in 2010 when they reached the quarterfinals and then lost to Uruguay in a tie-breaker. The Black Stars are as potent offensively as just about any team in the world. Coach Kwesi Appiah's men showed their fire power against Egypt with a blowout 7-3 win. Asamoah Gyan, the top scorer of the nation, and midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng are capable of finding the goal at any time.
Prediction: Many expect Ghana to blow out the US, but the red, white and blue will pull out an exciting 3-2 win.
