The cast of Season Two of 'The Originals' will see the addition of a powerful witch played by Sonja Sohn, who is better known as Detective Kima Greggs in the critically-acclaimed series 'The Wire'.
Sohn, who is a formidable opponent to the main protagonist of the series, Klaus (Joseph Morgan), will be joined by a number of witches facing off with the vampires of New Orleans. Joining Sohn is Daniel Sharman, who originally starred in Teen Wolfe. Sharman will star as Kaleb the cunning male witch, who is also a notorious womanizer.
The First Season of 'The Originals' ended with the epic battle for New Orlean that leaves most the vampires dead. Hayley Marshall (Phoebe Tonkin) has turned into a hybrid, and she gives birth to a hybrid daughter, who remains in danger.
Meanwhile, Klaus' abusive stepfather Mikael (Sebastian Roché) returns from the dead, and is sure to wreak havoc in the Season Two. Previously, Mikael existed only as a nightmarish memory to Klaus. It is not likely that Klaus' half-sister Rebekah (Claire Holt) is coming back for Season Two, as she has left New Orleans following events in the First Season.
Though the exact premiere date is unknown, the show will definitely be returning to the CW Network in October. Of importance however, the show has been bumped from its original timeslot to Monday night, 8pm EST.
