The World Cup update for FIFA 14 Ultimate Team (FUT) has just been launched on Friday May 30, despite initial delays - a development that will surely please the fans.
"#FUTWC is now available. Game on! #FUT," EA developers tweeted on Friday. The Friday tweet did not mention progress on the World Cup Kick-Off mode though. The FUTWC update is an automatic download for owners of the original game.
On Wednesday, FUT fans were dismayed to find that developers at EA were delaying the release date of FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: World Cup (FUTWC), which was originally scheduled for release on Thursday. The same announcement also mentioned that the World Cup Kick-Off mode would be delayed as well. FUTWC developers explained that they had "encountered unforeseen issues" in the final stage of testing.
"To ensure the best possible experience, we have decided to delay the launch of FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: World Cup (PC/PS3/PS4/360/XB1) and the World Cup Kick-Off mode (XB1/PS4)," game developers had written. "Knowing that our players have been so excited for these new modes made it a tough decision."
FIFA 14 was originally launched last September on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC platform. The PS4 and Xbox One version of the game was launched a short time later on November 2013.
