Dancing with the Stars Season 18 Week 9 Video (YouTube): Charlie White, Meryl Davis, Amy Purdy on American Icons Night

May 13, 2014 03:57 PM EDT

It was Week 9 of DWTS 2014 last night and famed choreographer Kenny Ortega joins as a guest judge on American Icons Night. Each couple dance twice to the iconic American songs and continued to compete for the Mirrorball Trophy. Monday night also saw a shocking elimination as Olympian Charlie White and Sharna Burgess were sent home!

Here is the highlight of the semi-finals:

Charlie's icon and inspiration is former ice skating champ Scott Hamilton. Scott advises him to show his versatility, and make the audience laugh and cry. Charlie's foxtrot to "New York, New York" was "A-Number One, Top of the List" with a rousing solo spinning finish. It was sad to see him go, we will miss you Charlie!

Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy earned a double perfection for the night. Their first routine was a Jive and then a Viennese Waltz. Bruno thought their Waltz was a grand, cinematic sweep and Carrie Ann said, "You better not go home!"

Amy Purdy and Derek Hough dance to the Quicksteps routine"Can't Hurry Love", it was light and fun! Their second dance was a jazz classic that garnered lots of praise from the judges.
