San Jose Sharks vs. Los Angeles Kings NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Game 6 will begin at 7 p.m. PST/10 p.m. ET on Monday, April 28, 2014. The (3-2) Sharks will be visiting the (2-3) Kings at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The Kings remained vigilant in forcing the Sharks into Game 7. While Sharks had the chance to sweep the Kings in Game 4, they were unable to do so. The Kings did a comeback and continued to remain in the Playoffs series with three well-played games.
The Kings' defense has improved; goaltender Jonathan Quick's rising save percentage has been a reflection of improved plays from him and his teammates.
Meanwhile, the Sharks' goaltender Alex Stalock has not allowed a goal on 26 shots after replacing Antti Niemi in each of the past two games.
Tonight's game will largely determine which team will continue on towards the Stanley Cup Playoffs 2014.
In the first two games, the Sharks defeated their rivals with relative ease, and did not face much challenge until Game 3. Despite their lead, the Sharks are well aware of the possibility that they can end up in Game 7 as what happened in 2011 West Conference Semifinals against Detroit Red Wings, and 2013 with the Vancouver Canucks, who pushed them hard.
The Kings players continue to remain optimistic that it is entirely possible to rally from a 3-0 deficit.
"You just can't look at the mountain and expect to do it all at once. It's a process to just put games together, put shifts together. And it starts with Thursday night. You can't win four unless you win one," said Mike Richards, who along with Jeff Carter was part of the 2010 Philadelphia Flyers that rallied from a 3-0 deficit to beat Boston Bruins with four straight wins.
