Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade has been slowing rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 since earlier this year, both updates have pushed out to the other major US carriers including AT&T, Sprint, U.S. Cellular and T-Mobile.
While many versions of Samsung Galaxy S4 have already been updated to the Android 4.4.2 KitKat, customers of Verizon have been left behind. Here is the good news, Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is finally rolling out to Verizon Galaxy S4 users today.
Last week, we heard rumors that suggested Verizon will update the Galaxy S4 and Note 3 on May 2. But it appears that the US largest carrier is making the update earlier than expected. The 4.4.2 update brings the usual KitKat goodies such as transparent status bar, white status bar icons, full screen album art in the lock screen, camera app shortcut on the lockscreen and other features. You'll also get TouchWiz-specific improvements like minor UI tweaks, updated Samsung apps, enhanced Samsung keyboard, and, of course, bug fixes.
Meanwhile, Verizon still hasn't confirmed the update for Galaxy Note 3 yet. But it is expected to be coming soon since the carrier often rolls out Samsung Galaxy updates within close proximity of each other.
