Andi Dorfman has officially been announced as the next Bachelorette of the ABC reality show. The new season is set to premiere on Monday, May 19.
While on "The Bachelor," the 26-year-old assistant district attorney from Atlanta revealed that she doesn't want an ordinary love. She longs to find a great love like the one her parents share and her newlywed sister has found. She isn't sure what has kept her from finding it, but she is sure she wants to keep on trying.
Today there is a sad news regarding one of the Bachelorette contestant- Eric Hill. Hill died Wednesday from injuries of a serious paragliding accident. Dorfman was spotted on her first one-on-one date with Hill.
"Eric shared his final journey with us this morning as all his immediate family were able to be at his side when he passed away," his sister Karen Tracy posted on Facebook.
Hill was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday, after his parachute apparently collapsed while paragliding in Utah. The 32-year-old contestant had already been eliminated off the series at the time of the accident.
"We're all extremely saddened by this news. We enjoyed our time with Eric on the show," host Chris Harrison tells E! News. "My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this difficult time. He will be missed."
"We are deeply saddened to hear about the tragic passing of our friend, Eric Hill," the show's producers said. "Eric inspired us every day with his passion, his courage and his adventurous spirit, and for that we are very thankful. On behalf of our cast, crew and producers, we send our love, our thoughts and our prayers to Eric's family during this difficult time."
It is still unknown how ABC will deal with the tragedy. According to E! News, Andi is currently on hometown dates with her remaining suitors and is not connected to the outside world. We are not sure if producers have told Andi the news and how it could affect the final episodes of the season.
