The Boston Red Sox will face off against the Baltimore Orioles Wednesday April 2 at 7:05 p.m. ET as the second game continues. After falling to Baltimore on Opening Day, the Red Sox is sending Jonny Gomes to the mound against Ubaldo Jimenez.
Gomes entered the game 5-for-12 lifetime against Jimenez with two homers and five RBIs.
"It's exciting," said Gomes. "The other day wasn't my turn, and that's fine. I like to be in there, win or loss to try to affect the game. It will be nice and I'll go out there and give it my all."
Baltimore spent the offseason improving their team and they will hope to see the results on the field, while the Red Sox will have to show that the losses they suffered in the offseason will not hurt them as they set off to defend their league title.
