It was "Most Memorable Year" week on Dancing with the Stars Season 18, each of the stars on Monday night danced to the theme of the year that meant the most to them. Joining the ballroom was guest judge Robin Roberts of "Good Morning America."
First of all, Billy Dee Williams withdrew the competition because of back problems. The stars seem to relax a little bit and just to enjoy the night.
One of the night's most emotional stories was Amy Purdy, who lost both legs and two kidneys at age 19 due to bacterial meningitis. The U.S. Paralympic Team Snowboarder danced a contemporary routine in tribute to her father, who gave her one of his kidneys. She was inspired to dance by falling into the arms of her father. She danced with her prosthetic legs before learning to walk again.
Amy and partner Derek Hough scored 36 and there was not a dry eye in the studio audience.
Meryl Davis' most memorable moment wasn't just one year, but the 17 year journey from a shy ice dancer when she and Charlie White first performing when they were 8 and 9 years old, to an Olympic champion. They performed John Legend's "All of Me" and the judges love her performance. They received three perfect 10's from the judges and a total score of 39.
Charlie White's most memorable year was 2010 when he and Meryl Davis won a silver medal in the Olympics. That pushed them to work harder to win the gold this year at Sochi. He picked the song "Happy" and did make everyone in the ballroom happy. He scored all 9s with the judges for a 36.
Candace Cameron Bure calls 1995 her most memorable year because it's not only when "Full House" ended, it's also the year she got engaged to be married. Candace daned the jive with Mark Ballas, their routine was fast and fun and had guest judge Robin calling her snazzy, and Bruno likening her moves to Ann-Margret.
